Burns Night Supper Menu


We would like to welcome you to The Bulls Head in Foolow to celebrate our
Burns Night Supper on Friday 26th January.
At £30 per head, you will enjoy a delightful meal, chosen from the menu below, amongst good company.

Starters

Homemade Scotch Eggs
served with homemade piccalilli

Cullen Skink
a lightly smoked haddock soup
served with a chunky bread roll

Smoked salmon with Scottish oatcakes
served with a creamed horseradish dressing

Game Pate with Fig Jam
served with toasted wholemeal bread and butter

(v) Creamy Garlic Mushrooms
completed with a Scottish Cheddar Topping

‘Sir Haggis’

with a traditional Orkney Clapshot of tatties and neeps
served with a white onion sauce and Gravy
and a ‘Nip of Whisky

Scottish Roast Beef
complete with Mushroom and Chestnut stuffing

Oven Roasted Pheasant with Port and Winter Fruits
based on a traditional Scottish Recipe
A dish to ward off winter chills

(v) Chestnut, Mushroom and Spinach Wellington
A hearty vegetarian option that is full of taste and flavour

Venison Suet Pudding
A sumptuous dish of highland venison, herbs, mushrooms and red wine
 nestling in suet pastry

Scottish Rainbow Trout with Almonds and Grapes
Pan fried trout with a light, warm almond and grape dressing


All mains are served with Roast Potatoes, traditional Pan Haggerty and a vegetable platter

Desserts

Crofters Plum Pudding
a suet based pudding with spices, syrup, ale and dried fruit served with custard

Cranachan
the sweet taste of Scotland with oatmeal, raspberries, cream, 
and a nip of whisky

Scotch Pancakes
served with an orange and whisky sauce and vanilla ice-cream

Orkney Broonie
a rich traditional gingerbread from the Isles served with butterscotch ice cream

A selection of cheese and biscuits


The meal will end with coffee and shortbread
